Lawyers' Professional Liability
Object of insurance:
The insurance must be taken out by persons exercising the legal profession, according to Art. 50 of the Law on Advocacy and from law firms that are obliged to insure each of their partners.
IJSC "Armeec" insures the insured's professional liability in relation to:
All sums up to the agreed limits of compensation that the insured is legally obliged to pay as compensation for damages caused to clients in the performance of professional duties as a lawyer (including negligence, errors or omissions);
Expenses for settling claims made with the consent of the insurer, as the limits agreed in the insurance include the expenses for settling the claims;
All sums payable according to the points above, in connection with the liability of partners (lawyers, assistant lawyers enrolled in the insurance policy) in cases where they jointly defend the interests of a principal or client.
Insurance compensation is paid after presenting a written claim on the basis of an out-of-court agreement between the parties to the insurance contract and the injured third party, or, if such a claim is not reached, on the basis of an effective court decision.
