Motorists civil liability insurance
Object of insurance:
Under this insurance, we insure the civil liability of individuals and legal entities for property and non-property damages caused by them to third parties, related to the ownership and/or use of motor vehicles, for which the insured are liable according to Bulgarian legislation or the legislation of the country in which the damage has occurred.
Who is insured?
The owner, user and holder of the motor vehicle for which there is a validly concluded insurance contract are insured, as well as any person who actually performs actions related to the management or use of the motor vehicle on a legal basis. It is not necessary for the driver to have an express written authorization from the persons referred to in the first sentence for the management or use of the motor vehicle.
Where is the insurance valid?
The insurance contract covers the liability of the insured for damages caused on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria and on the territories of the member states of the International Agreement "Green Card" according to the legislation of the country where the event occurred.
What is the liability limit?
The liability limit is defined in the Insurance Code. For every motor vehicle that is located on the territory of Bulgaria and that is not taken off the road, it is necessary to have the mandatory "Civil Liability" insurance for motorists for the following minimum insurance amounts (liability limit):
for non-property and property damages as a result of bodily injury or death - up to EUR 6,450,000 for each event, regardless of the number of injured persons;
for damage to property (objects) – up to EUR 1,300,000 for each event, regardless of the number of injured persons.
