Trip Cancellation Insurance

Object of insurance:

Under this insurance, we insure Bulgarian and foreign citizens with a protracted, long-term or permanent residence permit in Bulgaria who have a tourist or business trip to Bulgaria or abroad, which may be cancelled, interrupted or extended due to the occurrence of unforeseeable medical conditions or non-medical reasons or force majeure. The insurer reimburses pre-paid expenses for organized travel, plane tickets, hotel reservations and additional tourist services that are non-refundable from a tour operator, travel agent, transporter or hotelier.

The insurance is intended for:

• Bulgarians who purchased tourist services in connection with trips around the world, incl. Republic of Bulgaria;

• Foreigners who purchased tourist services in connection with a trip to Bulgaria.

MEDICAL REASONS are: illness, accident or death of the Insured, his close relative or business partner. Unexpected worsening of a chronic illness of the Insured is also considered medical reasons, only in case of hospitalization, the medical indicators on the occasion of which are contraindications for starting or continuing the trip.

NON-MEDICAL REASONS are: appointing the Insured as a juror, calling the Insured as a witness in a case or giving an expert opinion, the knowledge of which is after the date of booking; service of a notice of suit for divorce by a spouse; malicious acts, theft or robbery within the meaning of art. 195, para. 1, item 3 and art. 198, para. 1 of the Civil Code in the residence of the Insured or in premises where the same develops commercial, professional or industrial activity, a natural disaster, arson or fire of the same occurred no more than 72 hours before departure or during the trip and provided that the damage of the property exceeds BGN 2,000, as well as when the presence of the Insured is required by an appropriate state authority in connection with such events; dismissal of the Insured; impossibility of departure due to adverse weather conditions; missing the next flight due to a flight delay (for connecting flights); suffered a traffic accident, damage or theft of a motor vehicle or an accident of the vehicle with which the journey is carried out, causing an unexpected delay; theft of the Insured's documents, which he needs to leave the country's borders, in case of proven physical impossibility of reissuing them before the trip.
